10:30 am CDT San Antonio, Texas USA. Lasse and Jörg give me almost 12 minutes of insane fast free-form BOOGIE WOOGIE. Lasse is keeping up with Jörg arguably the SPEED DEMON of piano music. All piano music must find a way to keep up with Jörg. Jörg is obviously the ALPHA boogie woogie dog. Young and eager Lasse Ebbeskov BOOGIE Jensen has some tasty piano moves of his own. Jörg doesn’t get tired and Lasse wants to continue moving down the BOOGIE WOOGIE highway at Mach III. So 11:42 of non stop high grade BOOGIE WOOGIE and now Jörg is thinking ( in German) “If I just let this kid go he will play all day.” Lasse says quietly “that’s technically the idea”. Jörg has power and speed on the 88s. Lasse proves that he can keep up. So you are at the luxurious concert hall in Copenhagen expecting Mozart and Beethoven. Then out walk these two. “BORN TO BOOGIE” and proceed to make the foundation of the building shake and part of the ceiling falls but harmlessly. 😮

Lasse: I just discovered this. WELCOME BOOGIE. I don’t know much about music terminology because I never had lessons except from you. Okay… Right hand is hitting some pure BLUES notes 7th s. This is short but EXACTLY my take on the world’s best music. Tempo ROCKS !!!

Lasse On an old 10” 33 RPM record ALBERT AMMONS has this tune. The standard is 12” LPs Diameter. I have this song on record 10” vinyl. In the late 40’s recording companies compressed their notes etc on 10” vinyl Tape recordings were unreliable.

Need for speed. Lasse …Jörg has found his doppelgänger. All boogie woogie music is listenable. Fast boogie woogie is the most fun. Watching Jörg watching you.

Jörg bounces in time with the music. Now Lasse is also bouncing. These guys are having the most fun allowed by law.

Lasse is playing at Mach 2, twice the speed of sound. Jörg is encouraging this behavior. What is outstanding is that both of these guys are having a fantastic time. So those of us watching are also having a good time. Boogie Woogie is the “blues” played fast. Listening to Lasse and Jörg no one has the blues.

Lasse. I have been homebound for a month. Reading is good. Television okay. First thing in the morning I watch this 11 minute BW masterpiece. Sets the mood for the day. It’s HARD DRIVING. Perfect.

That is just about the finest example of the world’s finest music presented by two of the world’s finest boogie woogie artists whoever lived. Jörg Hegemann (Germany) and Lasse Jensen (Denmark) You have reached the top of the musical food chain.

There is a little town in Southwest England called Sturminster Newton. Every July it becomes ground zero for the finest music on earth played by the finest pianists on earth. BOOGIE WOOGIE. It’s the Annual UK Boogie Woogie Festival and for three days in July the whole town (it’s not that big) is alive with BOOGIE WOOGIE. The hosts get about 15 pianos and put them all over Sturminster so as you walk the boogie woogie fades you pick up the sounds of another piano maybe 100’ away. Here are two of the best boogie woogie pianists on earth Jörg Hegemann (Germany) and Lasse Jensen (Denmark). If the old boogie woogie greats from the 1930s 1940s Albert Ammons and Pete Johnson could hear these guys play I am certain they would give their approval.
